Install the Dynatrace Application

Operating Modes

The application supports two modes:

• Demo mode (default): uses built-in sample data. No collector required. Available immediately after installation.
• Live mode: uses real tenant data sent by the collector. Requires a configured collector and a valid license.

Install the Application

Dynatrace Hub

1. Open Dynatrace → Hub / Marketplace.
2. Search for Microsoft Teams Observability.
3. Install the app and grant the required permissions.
4. Open it from Apps.

Upload ZIP package

1. Download the latest app ZIP from the GitHub releases page.
2. In Dynatrace, open Hub → Upload app.
3. Select the ZIP file and install.
4. Verify the app status is healthy.

Activate Live Mode

Complete the following steps after configuring Dynatrace (Grail, OpenPipeline, Credential Vault) and the collector output:

1. Open the app and go to Installation & Configuration.
2. Configure tenant and backend settings.
3. Add and activate your license.
4. Save and reload the app.
5. Wait for at least one full collector cycle.

Caution

If the license is missing or invalid, the app may fail to initialise tenant-specific data and configuration saves can fail.

Verification Checklist

After activating Live mode, confirm:

• Overview page shows non-demo events and real metrics.
• Calls List contains real call IDs from your tenant.
• Microsoft Issues page shows service announcements.
• Sites/Locations page is populated (requires sites.csv mapping for full coverage).
